Operating Group

    In addition to Nautic’s investment professionals, the Firm has proprietary relationships with five veteran executives who provide us and our management teams with valuable assistance, both during due diligence as well as post-investment. A brief bio of each of these Operating Group members is found below.

  • Ronald Coburn - Manufacturing and Operations
    Mr. Coburn has been associated with Nautic since 1995. Mr. Coburn was the Chairman and CEO of Savage Sports Corporation, a former Nautic portfolio company that was sold in 2004. He assists Nautic in due diligence on new manufacturing-related investment opportunities. Mr. Coburn has been involved with four Nautic portfolio companies, is currently serving on the board of Curtis Industries Holdings, and previously served on the boards of Pace Fitness, LLC, Medegen Holdings, LLC and Prince Sports Management Holdings, LLC. Mr. Coburn received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Canterbury School of Technology in England and a Business Degree from Croydon School of Business in London. Mr. Coburn also serves on various association and civic boards.
  • Richard Crosier - Strategy
    Mr. Crosier has had an ongoing relationship with Nautic since 1991. Mr. Crosier was previously employed by Bain & Company, The Parthenon Group, and Investor Group Services, LLC. From 2004-2010, Mr. Crosier was a Managing Director at Nautic and built the firm’s Business Diligence and Strategy Group. In addition to providing broad coverage to the portfolio in terms of strategic initiatives, Mr. Crosier’s current activities include operational support to portfolio companies. Mr. Crosier received a BA from Duke University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
  • David Harrington - Healthcare and Technology
    Mr. Harrington has enjoyed an association with Nautic since 2005. Mr. Harrington contributes over 40 years in key areas of healthcare delivery management with an emphasis on client development and retention through simplified processes and leveraged technology. Mr. Harrington has held executive positions with health plans (AETNA, United Healthcare and Wellpoint), hospitals (Columbia/HCA) and physician-owned enterprises (Physician Quality Care). Mr. Harrington was CEO of American Imaging Management (AIM), a portfolio company Nautic exited in 2007. Currently, Mr. Harrington assists Nautic in evaluating health-related opportunities and serves on the boards of two Nautic portfolio companies, HPS Holding Company, LLC (Executive Chair) and Reliant Holding Company, LLC. Mr Harrington received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and graduate degree from Columbia University.
  • Peter Nelson - Finance and Operations
    Mr. Nelson has been associated with Nautic since 2003. Mr. Nelson was Chief Financial Officer of CLC Group, Inc., a Fund V portfolio company and was interim CFO of Canada Cartage, a Fund VI company. He is currently providing operating support to Canada Cartage, Theorem Clinical Research and Superior Vision in the areas of finance, organizational development, and business strategy. Prior to joining Nautic, Mr. Nelson’s experience included IBM, Booz, Allen & Hamilton, and Horsehead Industries. Mr. Nelson received a BS from Brown University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
  • William Troyk - Transportation and Logistics
    Mr. Troyk has had an ongoing relationship with Nautic since 1997. Mr. Troyk was the Founder and CEO of Roadrunner Freight Systems, a Nautic portfolio company that was exited in 2003. Mr. Troyk currently serves on the board of Canada Cartage, a Nautic portfolio company, and assists Nautic in evaluating new investment opportunities, in the areas of transportation and logistics. Previously, Mr. Troyk served on the board of CLC Group, Inc., a Nautic portfolio company that was sold in 2009. Mr. Troyk is presently the Chairman and shareholder of Badger Trucking. He received a BS from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Mr. Troyk has also served on numerous company and civic boards.
